He appears to have got a rough ride.. Surprised he was arrested alive. Formerly I had false DV claimed against me about 15 yrs ago at the time of my divorce. The sherrifs officers apologized to me and said 90 % of their time was WAISTED serving bogus domestic violence papers. That it was SOP in Montgomery for divorces. They even invited me to join them for a rabbit hunt. Still I had to unjustly defend myself due to a poorly written law. There is no justification for his actions but I am surprised this doesnt happen much more often due to people losing access to their families due to a truly horridly biased DV law that was written for votes.

My family member who is a LEO says DV calls are by far the most dangerous and volatile calls they go to. Everything else is a distant second.

Not at all. Those officers should have the proper training to subdue him quickly once he was disarmed. Size is irrelevant when you know what to do. Of course, it seems they said this guy was former military, so it could be that he knew what he was doing too.

I hate it for the Auburn officers lived next to a couple when in Auburn who were good guys.

I have said it before and will say it again the PFA system in Alabama is as messed up as a soup sandwich and should be overhauled. It will not change or improve until we as men get fed up with this sh*t and make it painful to those elected until it is changed. The system is defacto guilty until proven innocent with little recourse for those who are innocent. When an overturned PFA starts resulting in the filing party loosing their rights and the judge who blindly signed it being held financially responsible it will stop the abuse until then hope you never find yourself on the wrong side of it.

There is an update on WSFA's FB page. Said his live in girlfriend called the cops and met them in the trailer park at a different location. Officers went to talk to him and he opened the door wearing vest and holding a rifle. Shot 3 officers and a fourth one wasn't hit

Especially a jacked up, sweaty one. Remember there is a big difference between fighting for your freedom and fighting to control someone. One has rules to follow, the other doesn't.

When we stopped shoplifters when I worked at Wal-Mart it took about three of us to safely subdue a grown man.

Heard the guy is completely remorseful, and completely cooperative. Full confession.

Doubt it goes to trial or ends in a death penalty

That's odd to hear he is completely remorseful, knowing what he did. He evidently did this on purpose for attention to some need he felt he had or something's wrong with him (I guess that's sort of obvious)

There's your difference. Trying to subdue vs. trying to hurt or kill.

I have no remorse or sympathy for the punishment this man will receive but a piece of me feels like something to do with the woman and child pushed him over the edge. Curious to know the whole story with the girlfriend and the events that led up to her calling the police. I wanna know her story, the killers story and the officers story of how it all went down and WHY!

Just to be clear I think the guy deserves the death penalty and it’s painful to know that this officers family is now without a father/husband/son etc. terrible all around for everyone.
