They released the name of the officer who was killed. William Buechner. RIP. Prayers to his family and all of the APD. Wish someone had the sense to put the perp out of his misery before it came to court, unfortunately, they didn't.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for the other 2 officers as well

Just curious. Has anyone mentioned what kind of weapon he was using or if he is ex-military? I found it interesting a woman said it was an automatic weapon. Most don't know the difference in semi and full auto.

I was told it was an AR15, considering who told me I have no reason to think otherwise.
Personally, I doubt it was full auto, though it could very well be a stock/binary trigger type.

I have friends still on the Auburn PD. A couple of them work night shift. I just heard and am thankful that they were not involved in the shooting.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I read the same.... "Wilkes did not resist arrest, was cooperative once in custody. No one was injured during the arrest."

wonder if he was like that when they found him then?

Only thing missing from that photo is a bullet hole with powder burns centered on his forehead.

Looks like whoever he was in a Domestic Violence situation with got their fair share of him in the fight. That is almost certainly to be where the finger/choke marks are from on his neck. Very common in DV cases.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Bastard should be dead. Would have been the perfect time to shove a half ounce of meth down his throat.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Not going to comment on that, but I read a lot of stuff on this site about "not giving up guns" what if the officers responding to the DV call threatened to take this guy to jail and take all his guns away? and he was also a member of the Armed Forces?

That is the point I was making through my Redneck sarcasm.
I read a lot of Billy Bad Ass comments on here about how they are not going to comply and such. And then, some of the same ones comment on a thread like this, with NO idea of what transpired, only the Outcome, about how severely the perpetrator should be punished.
