Just wondering if anyone has ever had any kind of issues after buying one of these tractors from a dealer after being leased out. I've been thinking about buying a 4x4 john deere 5E series but just haven't ran across what I really want for a price I can afford. A friend of mine bought a 5075e with a loader that a peanut mill had leased out and turned back to the dealer in either dothan or Auburn and it was in really good condition with only 240 hrs and was set up with a 3rd function for a grapple for the same price as a new 5045E but the 5075E had the power reverser on the steering column which I really like after looking at his 5075E.

All the peanut companies generally do with them is pull wagons. These tractors still come with the full factory warranty. I have a buddy who bought a Kubota that was a peanut company leased tractor. He has had no issues. I'd never give it a second thought about buying one if I could find what I wanted.

I bought a leased 5200 jd from Montgomery tractor in 98. Been a good one. You can probly save yourself a few dollars in buying one. They will still have warranty left on them. 4 or 5 years later Deere still came around & added a couple of safety updates to this one here. JD has always been fairly good about the updates anyway. I remember several years ago they came around to do some updates on two 2630 orchard tractors. You"ll most likely be happy with a lease model.

I think a lease tractor can be a great deal, but there is still the chance of getting a lemon just like with a new one. I bought a 5075e new not long after my uncle bought a 5520 that was just off a lease. Both are supposed to be 75 hp, but his is a lot more tractor than mine. I had some initial troubles with mine and thought he had gotten a much better deal than I did, but over time his has required a lot of expensive repairs.

I think I got the better deal now, but you never know. Good luck finding what you want.
