If y’all think you have it get tested. CPAP is a life changer. I put it off for a long time until I was riding home from the camp one day and fell asleep at the wheel. Wasn’t the first time but this time I had my entire family in the truck and was hauling the tractor. That was in 2014. I almost refuse to sleep without it now. It has made such a difference in how I feel.

Funny you mentioned that. I setup an appointment today with a sleep doctor. I wake up consistently at 11pm, 1am, 3am, 4am every night...don't know if it's apnea or something else but I am at my wits end waking up all throughout the night.

Life changer for me as well. My MD had forgotten how severe mine was until he looked at the notes on my last visit.
73 awakenings per hour down to 1.8
I believe to be counted, the even is for more than 10 seconds.

I don't refuse to sleep without it, I can't sleep without it. That thing has synced up with my brain so that if I put it on, it will be lights out before long. Conversely, I can't go to sleep without it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I can't sleep without mine.period.

When I lay down and put it on, I guess my brain shuts down because, I'm asleep in a mater of seconds. My wife says it's the craziest thing shes ever seen.

I have sleep apnea and periodic limb movements of sleep. My sleep schedule was ALL JACKED UP. I was so dog tired all the time until I got on my CPAP. Sleeping a lot better now, but still have the limb twitches, which sucks.

To those reading this, if you're overweight you probably have obstructive sleep apnea to some degree. It's worth it to get checked out to prevent all the heart issues that can arise.

Add me to the list. Used to nod off every afternoon while driving, had high blood pressure too. That was after sleeping for 8 or more hours. Got a sleep test, had over 80 episodes, got the CPAP a year and a half ago.

I can sleep for 6 hours on the CPAP and I feel awesome all day long. Don't nod off at all anymore. Blood pressure is 100% normal range also.

Game Chagner, do not wait if you know you have it! If you snore badly you probably have it. It will change your life, and might save it too.

Obstructive SA is linked to excess weight although I think folks can have it that are fit. Just how their muscles relax when they sleep for the fit folks.

Central SA is tied to the nervous system. The brain basically fails to tell you to breathe. Something about the O2 or CO2 sensors not performing properly if I recall correctly.

I have both.

Same here. I can seriously just think about mine and I get sleepy. Like now.

I know mine has saved my life.... I was waking up sweating and struggling for air every night.

Got my life saving machine and sleep is real good now.

Thank you Jesus.

Amen. Been 7 years now, and know it saved my life or someone else's if I had not got that first sleep test and found out what I needed.

What mask do you all use? I have a full face and a Phillips dreamwear nasal. Both drive me insane but I can deal with the full face a little bettter surprisingly.

I’ve had mine few months and I’m getting better with it, I still wake up in a panic some nights ripping it’s off and not sure why but I can definitely tell a difference the nights I make it all night.
I’ve got a full face mask

I started with the Dreamware nasal tube under my nose and really like it. I won't use anything else.

Serious question what did people do about Sleep Apnea 30 years ago? Does anyone who gets tested ever not have it?

One day the right woman will come along and the next thing you know you'll be wearing her underwear!
