When dad passed away, my brother was going to get dad's johnboat because he lives on a lake in Louisiana. He decided this week to buy a new boat big enough for his daughter to ski behind so I get the johnboat. It's a 1642 and got a 2010 20hp Honda, trolling motor, fishfinder with some kind of GPS and some other stuff that Dad had tricked out for striper fishing on Lake Martin. I don't think it's been in the water in a couple of years but he was meticulous about getting it serviced. My question is, other than a new battery, should I have a mechanic service it, blow out the fuel lines, ect or is that something I can do with some fresh gas? What do I need to do to get this thing ready for the water? It's been 30 years since I've had to mess with a boat so I'm relearning. Thanks!
