We've had almost 8" of rain since yesterday. Finally stopped this morning for a little while. I went check the garden and noticed the dirt was washed off some of the potatoes. I talked to a gentleman down the road who is a master at growing potatoes. He told me to get them out the ground and wipe most of the mud off of them and put them where they can dry. I did that and got them under some fans. I was able to save most of them before the sun ruined them. Rain needs to stop because this is just a tiny portion of what's left in the tater patch. Still got probably 2 more trays like this in the basket on the 4 wheeler that needs to be brought in. [Linked Image]

We put lime on our potatoes to help dry them out. Makes them keep a lot longer too. We store them on a ventilated plastic shelf in a barn shed.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Rain has severly beaten my onion crop up. I have them planted here and in two additional planters at our cabin. The ones at the cabin have survived considerably better than the ones at my house. I think the ones at the house will make but I am still keeping my fingers crossed.

Be kind to one another and tell the ones you love that you love them often. We never know what tomorrow will bring.
