Took my wife fishing yesterday with my buddy. We have been jinxed with her. Ive taken her 3 times, the first two we lost a bunch of big stripes. Yesterday she figured it out and started landing them. She had been dropping her rod tip close to the boat and losing them just as we were netting them. Yesterday we got on em and caught her some fish. Great day on the water and proud of her. She never got discouraged and listened to what we were teaching her. Going out again in a few days and now she, like the fish, are hooked on it!

Thanks Justin. It was funny....we were getting fish close to the boat and my buddy said "drop your rod tip a little so we can net him"....she said "NO way Im dropping this rod tip an inch!" I swung the rod tip over to the rear of the boat and we scooped him up . She was totally focused on keeping that rod tip at 11 O clock and keeping her line tight! They are just now transitioning from Planer boards in the shallows to down lines 35 to 80 ft deep. We were getting hits on both but definitely switching it up next trip to 2 planer boards and 4 down lines. it was a great time though, great weather and a lot of fun. We missed a few and lost 1 or 2 as well. Another member here...who will remain nameless... .....was supposed to go to but had to miss out. We will take him next time hopefully. It was a blast though!

Where were y'all fishing at? What lake?
It's not how much money you make, but how much you can keep.

Nice! I’ve caught a lot of different fish but I’ve never been striper fishing. Gotta go someday.

Are they any good to eat? If so, how do you prepare them? They’re okay if done right. Gotta cut all the blood lines out, we usually blacken them in skillet and do tacos. They need a lot of seasoning
