Forgive me if this has been discussed recently but we can't grow squash, zuchinni, cucumbers, or watermelons at our house because of squash vine borers. Is there anything considered organic or even close to it that can be applied to deter these pests? My wife thinks BT will do the trick but it only works after they have started eating. Any help appreciated.

I have read that but have been lead to believe it kills the bees.

Surely it won't kill all the bees.

I've read to keep it off the blossoms, and they'd be ok.

Row cover. Agribon. Uncover the plants when you need to weed or let the flowers get pollinated. Other than that keep the plants covered

We have them covered right now but the flowers are about to open and the vine borer moths are in plain view, We are considering trying to hand pollinate as a last resort.
