I keep getting a double bottom on my sonar & the depth flickers back & forth. For example if I'm in 10' of water the depth will read 10 then 20 then 10 & so on. Dosent do it all the time but it does it a lot. I've had the marina I bought the boat from work on it twice & it's still the same. Any ideas?

Mine messes up sometimes over shallow solid rock. It will also give a false bottom reading every now and then over large schools of bait.

This is what mine does as well, or when I run close to the bottom of G Dam and there is a large amount of air bubbles beneath the boat. You might need to adjust your sensitivity setting.

I think the last update was supposed to fix this issue. Both mine do it but I'm afraid I'll get something worse if I update.

Yup, it needs updating and that will fix it but at least the last 2 bird updates have caused problems.

I do, I keep the console unit running just to keep from restarting it so much. I'm not sure how to put it in stand by.
