Ok so I see it passed. How are clubs going to handle this now. Not likely but just say 18 people on 1800 acres and each puts out 2 corn piles. Then you have feeders on 10 fields. How much are deer gonna move?

Or say X member has been putting corn in a clearcut all year. Other guy hasn't bought first bag but hunts the other guys bait pile Monday thru Friday while X is at work? I see lots of problems

If you hunt corn piles you’re going to see does and bucks younger than 3.5 years old

The way I see it is someone in a club is going to place feed in spot x and call it his spot and expect no one but him to hunt it.
Or regular Joe can't hunt the spot because he doesn't believe in hunting over corn, feed etc. I'm in a club and hope to goodness we have a club
meeting to kinda talk this over.

I think we eventually knew it would pass as did dcnr it's been kicked around for years. The state's all around us have been doing it for years.
To me it's not the worst thing in my life that could have happened . So compared to the lottery this will not take but $15 compared to people's whole checks that will be spent on a lottery if you play. JMO

A few people who run clubs Ive talked too briefly about it over the past few weeks are probably going to raise their standards of what size or age of bucks they are going to take and try and limit the amount of younger bucks taken. Also talked about areas where no corn would be allowed at all, or not allowed on fields, or at least be 100 yards away so those who didnt purchase the permit could hunt without worry of ticket.

This is not a true statement, if you shoot every deer that comes to the feeder your gonna have a lot of pressure and you will probably won’t see anything. If you’re selective and kill only the deer you’re wanting to kill you will see mature bucks. I’ve personally done it several times. Hunting over corn or green field is no difference especially if there is little to no pressure.

For all you guys hunting in a club, you need to make rules about this before the season starts. If you don’t want to hunt over corn don’t join a club that does. If you do then hunt a club that does. It’s not really that difficult guys.

As far as someone baiting a spot and some other member hunting over it, well it is what it is unless the club assigns a area for each member to let each member bait as they wish.

I could be wrong, but from my understanding the 100 yard rule will not apply anymore if you don’t have a permit.

Hmmm. Didn't know they put an age limit on corn piles.

I had read earlier that the 100 yard rule still applied just like before to those who didnt buy the permit. I guess we will know in a few days what the bill actually contains and its wording.
Its going to be a interesting year for sure. Even if you do make areas of no corn, or clubs that may decide not to use corn at all, you will always have "that one guy" whos going to do it anyway even though he knew the rules going in.

I think clubs will have to be all in on baiting or all out. Anyother way will cause a ton of problems.

If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

I agree and thats why the guys I spoke too were going to go along with it and just up their requirements to older or larger bucks.

Our plan is to not be able to walk 20 yards in any direction without stepping on a kernel of corn. Give the deer plenty to eat and make sure they stay on our place.

Does the law only apply to privately managed land? I'm assuming a guy couldn't tote a bag of corn into a WMA or national forest land but maybe so?

I'm against baiting. I'm gonna find me a tree dropping acorns, or a food plot.

So, you've found some new drama to create at your hunting club?
