this is just what i think. being right eye domiant is important in shooting a bow, right eye rh handed, left eye left handed. i do know people that can shoot both ways with tradional equp. and a couple with componds. the big thing is what feels good to him. i would go to a archery shop and let him try a rh handed bow that he can pull, and see if it feels easyer for him (seeing, anchoring, ect.). i know he is only 7 it may be a little nerve racking. my son is 4 know and shoots his rh but sometimes strays left so im letting him feel it out, then go from there. i believe bear bows makes a left/ right handed bow that might help. good luck!

it will play a huge role in shooting without sights. You don't want to see me shoot trad left handed with sights just close the other eye and line up the peep and pin on the target. troy

I agree with CAM. He needs to do it right handed.

I agree. Try your best to get him shooting right handed. I'm left eye dominate and shoot both trad. and compound bows right handed. I shoot with both eyes open, except in low light. But, I wish I would have had someone to catch this early on. You're a lot better off shooting the same as your dominate eye. Try turning the poundage down as much as you can until he can draw the bow. Once he does, it shouldn't take him long to build that right arm up.
