I saw a couple of their delivery trucks today. Didn't realize they were rolling their own.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I've seen a ton of Amazon Mercedes Sprinter vans being hauled on trailers recently.
I'm kinda surprised Amazon hasn't just bought FedEx yet

haleyville al,
Yep they run there own deliveries close to the portal doing the same day delivery. But my understanding is they are having problems with it already.

All the drivers are employees of contractors. From what I understand Amazon sets up small business people in their own delivery business that delivers exclusively for Amazon and then those business people hire their own drivers and are responsible for all their pay and benefits. Not sure how the trucks are done. Maybe the small business people lease them from Amazon? Sounds like a great plan for Amazon with little responsibility for them and a lot of burden on the small business owners all beholden to only one customer.

Once I read about how it all works, there is no way I would step into that crap

Edit: Apparently you do lease the trucks and according to Amazon you have to have $30k in liquid assets to apply and start delivering for them.

Apparently the drivers work so hard that the guys pull off the side of the road to pee and the gals carry a bucket and some wet wipes in the truck.

It's funny that folks aren't too worried about ethical working conditions for drivers when their "stuff" is late. Hypocrisy is always so obvious.

They delivered a package to my house about 9:00 one night. Really surprised any company would allow that.

Why do the democrats want to bust this company up? No money coming in from lobbyist since Amazon doesn't have any competition I'm guessing.

The way of business today - shift the burden and risk down the chain to the little guy.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've peed on the side of the road.

I looked into it since this is the type of business I am experienced in, i even went so far as to apply for one of the areas. The information they sent me, if I remember correctly, said that they tried to establish territories that would generate somewhere around $4 million a year gross with a net of $300k/year. That would be a full time headache and decided it wasn’t worth it.

I see trucks like that all time time around my house. On Sunday - Easter Sunday - I even had an Amazon package delivered around 7pm by a guy in a private car. I've seen them do that a time or two in the past too.
