Such an incredible morning. I only know there’s birds on this property thanks to a few trail cameras. This makes the 6th morning I’ve gone there and today they finally gobble. He was roosted 100yds off our clear cut in a strip of hardwoods that are surrounded by pines. He was not coming to the clear cut so I eased around him in the pines and got ~150 yds from him. The only thing between us was some wet hardwoods and he was gobbling pretty good on his own. I gave him a few soft yelps and I shutup. 5 minutes later he hobbled on his own at 75yds and he was coming. Here he come picking his way through the wet spots looking for me and at 25yds I rolled him with the .410. A fantastic bird to end on. 22.3 lbs on the shipping scale. 1 1/4 spurs. 11 1/4 beard. Thank the lord
