Tried to get close and call to him but they were just hanging out in one spot trying to dry off. So I doubled back around and got some briars between me and them and managed to crawl within 20yds of him. Ended up being the bird that I “missed” two weekends ago. He’s got half dissolved clumps of feather and shot in his breast from that morning.
