This WILL make you reconsider some filters that you've been buying..

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

thumbup Been using WIX filters for the last 9 years. Did oil changes in 2 of my 7 vehicles today. NapaGold was built by Wix at one time, Microgard is also a Wix filter.

It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Was in a NAPA store probably 30 years ago and they had a Fram cut open and on display. Been using Wix ever since.

I had a Fram filter come apart on a Buick v6 back in the 80's. Cost me an engine for sure. The entire oil system was full of filter media.

Wow. Very interesting. I typically use Baldwin filters. I'm going to cut one open and see how it's made.

I’ve use Fran oil filters forever and never lost an engin. I had a Mazda RX7 for 15yrs, Chevy truck that I bought brand new kept it 20yrs, and now my Avalanche that I bought new in 05, wife’s 05 Suburban 12yrs. All had Frams with an occasional Walmart brand. No trouble for me. I must just have the luck of the Irish.

Avalon gets the oil changed at the dealer using an OE oil & filter. $45 for 6qts of synthetic&filter, I'll happily pay that.
K5 gets Walmart Supertech oil & a NAPA filter.
BMW gets Rotella T6 & a MANN filter.

Filter with a good anti-drainback valve is critical on those motors due to so many moving parts in the valve train. I only run Ford filter on mine with 199k on the clock.

Napa gold filters. That's the only brand I will buy.

I was actually talking to a buddy of mine yesterday about this. I’ve been using wix exclusive for several years now. If I could just get wix to start putting fram’s Tough grip on their’s we’d be in business.

I don’t use Fram anymore, but the Tough Grip was nice.

Be a good time to copy/paste the oil thread from 1/5/2019 that Jakethesnake had, but I can't get it to copy for some reason.
I hope they start making 6.2 quart containers of oil like my Ford requires. I'm going to start changing my oil myself again. I went to the local Chevrolet dealership to have the oil and filters changed last time and they hit me with a $100 bill, claiming the Valvoline oil was a super high price.

Put in 1.5gallons and check it after a tank of gas. The .2 likely won't matter, engines always retain some oil during oil changes.

Saw the posted video a month or so ago. Had no idea Fran was such junk. That's all I've used in my Tacoma. I want to believe their ultra synthetic filters are much better quality as that's all I've used in the Avalon
