I was in Texas a couple of weeks ago piddling around and had my first Buc-ees experience. I've never seen anything quite like it, but those folks have got it going on. It's like a gas station Walmart hybrid. They had something like 190 gas pumps and we waited about 5 minutes for a pump to open to get gas. They have anything you could think of inside and a lot of it is branded under their own name, including their Gummie Bears. Which that was the whole point of this post is that they have the best gummie bears I've ever eaten. Supposedly we are getting a couple of Buc-ees in AL so check them out if you get a chance. And, I'd recommend the gummie bears

I went to the once in Foley twice last week. 120 pumps. More than 90% occupied. Impressive. I ate bbq from there the second time. It was pretty good.

Yup. Their fuel prices are usually 5-10cents cheaper than the competition in the area and the store is nicer than most retail type establishments.

I wonder how many people park at the pump, get gas, and then go inside for 30 minutes?

I'm sure that's common, because we spent about 15 minutes inside. Between the three of us in the car we probably dropped about $100 inside plus another $60 to refuel. Based off of just some rough figuring and my experience, those stores are probably netting sales around 1-1.5M per day.

I'd be surprised if they did a half Billion dollars in business per year. But I could be wrong...

Never eaten a gummy and have been to a Buc-ee's. Guess I'm 0 for 2.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I would think it would be a LOT more than 12-20 million per location. Mark's Outdoors does more than that amount annually.

Buc-ee's stores are legendary in TX. They advertised cleanest public restrooms you've ever seen, and $0.99 for a 20-pound bag of ice. Several store locations sold feeders and corn. On Fridays during deer season, there would be a line of F250s and trailers at their Luling, TX store as Houston area hunters would stop on their way to the lease. Common to see charter buses full of tourists stopping to shop and eat. It's an incredible business model.

Buc-ee’s Beach Express
The bathrooms are truly unbelievable. As a traveler it’s rare to stop at a place that has clean bathrooms like this. The stalls are huge with a locking full size wooden door so you can spread out, take care of business and post threads on here that gets on other folks nerves.

Very true on the clean bathrooms. I live a few miles from the new one on the Baldwin Beach Express. I quit pooping at home!
