I know I look like Straycat eating two plates at the buffet... Y'all know I'm NOT a buffet person, but this particular one happens to be pretty damn good with fresh ingredients and cooks that really know what they are doing. I'm not even going to post pics of dessert, because I'm downright embarrassed I ate this much...

Plate 1

Roast beef
Pork ribs
Black eye peas (Some of the best I've had)
Cream corn
Broccoli
French roll

Plate 2

Jambalaya
Fried skrimps
Fried green tomato with a nice sauce
Turnip greens

I was staying at the Beau Rivage earlier this week on business and I was just not in the mood for one of the fancier restaurants on that night and decided on just hitting up the buffet there. It was actually quite good for a buffet. Apparently what a lot of the geriatrics is get a take-out container for the two of them and go back to the room and split it.

The whole place kind of bums me out. Seeing old people with oxygen tanks and walkers gambling like staying at a place like the Beau Rivage is retirement they have worked their whole lives for. To each his own, but it's just kind of a depressing place. I stay there sometimes on business, because it's inexpensive and the food it good and I can have a drink or two and don't have to worry about driving anywhere.
