We found a couple after our December ‘15 flood. Im guessing same as you...waited to late to hunt for high ground. The highest point of our club is down by the camp on the river bank. It doesn’t completely go underwater till river stage is at 42’ in Coffeeville. Every critter that waits to late to leave ends upright there. I had to get 3 dead rabbits off the porch of the camp and several hogs were scattered out with in a couple hundred yards of the camp dead

I would have thought as well as a hog can swim that they could have made it to a bluff somewhere instead of just standing there and drowning. Where they were is the bluff. It is the highest spot in the whole swamp. If they were to leave it they would have had to swim across a couple miles of flooded timber. I think the big hog got tangled up in that vine that was under him

They are like cockroaches, one little flood won't kill all of them. Won’t kill them all but 3 floods in 3 months will knock a good dent.

My buddy has a camp on Steele Bayou close to Eagle Lake, MS....he sent me a video last week of a hog that had crawled up on their camp porch to get out of the water. They pulled up to it in a boat.
