I mainly only hunt Marion excluding a trip or so to local WMA if that happens. Have a few trips planned out of state also.

Chilton, sumpter, greene, maybe dallas and clay. Hopefully get to go try an wack a few rios in texas again.

I’ll be in northeast part of the state and I plan on making a run to our farm in Kentucky. What do y’all think about Mt Music?

Spent the afternoon loadin ma truck, headin to chilton co after work tomorrow.

Sure wish we could hunt today... I had planned to stay at my place in st Clair tonight but my wife's grandfather passed away Wednesday morning so I have a viewing tonight and funeral tomorrow. I'll get to hunt Saturday morning for a bit. I may play hooky from church Sunday.

Had baseball games for the boys this morning, but got out this afternoon in Shelby County. Pretty sure I found a roost. Spitballing on how to backdoor this sumbeetches in the morning. Fingers crossed.

I'm waiting on daylight now. Heard 2 birds yesterday. I got to my club at 4:45 and my buddy had already pinned out on where I was going..bastage! I'm going with by backup bird this morning. Skipping church today. I'll do a little sunrise praise and worship in the hardwoods this morning lol.

I hunted this mornin but didnt hunt long, ive still yet to hear a turkey gobble...they just ain actin right where i was, but ive got some private land not far from where i was hunting that im savin til a little later in season that i put cameras on an looked around an i found alot of sign but they aint talkin there neither so my feelins aint hurt to bad. Folks i know round there aint heard much lately neither so they need a little more time. Ill hunt next saturday with my wife shell be on the gun tryin to kill her first.

Heard 4 this morning. Hunted one till 11 . He cut me off 3 or 4 times but wouldn't come more than half way

Hunted this morning, heard 3, maybe 4 different birds gobbling between 6:25 - 6:35. After that, not a peep the rest of the day until I left at 11. Hopefully, I'll be able to head back out Wednesday morning for a quick hunt.

Still no gobbles for me. Seen hens every time. Been deer hunting them some, still nothing. They will come around eventually. Hope I don’t lose my patience before then.

Yeah that was my problem Saturday. Had to about be under em to hear one. All this wind and sunlight has really dried out the leaves. We could use a quarter inch of rain er so .

Good luck mauser. I'm working till noon today then heading out to the Turkey woods. Taking off a couple days next week for spring break so hopefully I can kill one !

They have been very finicky this year. The first 4-5 days was excruciating, after that it slowly got a little better but you better be on them tight. Around day 8 started finding birds not gobbling much on the roost but if you could get close you could get them going around 8-9. Day 10 started finding more birds in what I call looking mode. Starting to see tracks in roads up high and seeing lone hens and seeing the occasional strutter. I would think gobbling would peak in another week or so. But no where near the gobbling I normally see.

Good luck everyone, if you have time stick with them and one will mess up. It will be over before you know it.

Congrats on the bird cc. I had a heck of a morning hunt. I missed one at 6:30 then called up 3 Jake's and eventually tangled with another gobbler for 30 minutes and had to leave him gobblin to take the family to the zoo.

me an my brother are in the west alabama turkey rodeo tomorrow so....maybe we wil do alright.. finally get to mess with my private land birds.

Killed one this morning just before the bottom fell out. Foggy and overcast . Started to stay in bed but glad I didn't.

Congratulations. Nice picture. I got close to one about 12 but couldn’t get him up the hill. By the time I got down with him he lost interest or got another hen.

Thanks fellas. I got on this same bird twice Saturday but he had hens . I couldn't get anything going at daylight . About 8 am I figured I would go Yelp around the same are I was in Saturday. He was silent. Started walking back to the truck and he gobbled about 150 yards from me. Dropped off the side of the hill ,Sat up,called and he answered so I shut up. Watched him stut around for a minute within range but no shot. He tried to give me the slip but I luckily had one small opening I squeezed some shot through.

All around turkeys this week but couldn’t make it happen. Helped a buddy get one Wednesday.

Well I missed one Wednesday morning .been sick about it since. Would have been #5 and would have been my first limit. Going back at em tomorrow. Good luck yall.

I got a upgrade I can add sometime. I’m going to hold off and see if I get any better. Still got a few trips in me.

i couldnt buy a gobble....i dont know... its been a weird year for me....ive kilt ever bird i heard...all 2 of them...may try it one more time this weekend but its gettin hard for me to justify wastin the time an money the way its been goin where i hunt

I haven’t heard much either. I just keep at it and call and move. Usually find one in the middle of the day somewhere. Getting harder with the foliage coming on strong now. I usually don’t move around nearly this much, and found a lot of birds in places I don’t usually find them. Body weights are real low and I have virtually no mast crop.

Enjoyed it fellas. I leave tomorrow for my last swing of the year. Good luck to those that are fortunate to hunt some more.

Gents, I logged over 60 miles worth of walking on public lands, but was only in the game with 3 turkeys, 1 of which I missed. Sorry I didn't contribute, but I sure as hell tried! I think I got out 14 times, but being my 2nd year of turkey hunting I'm still learning a lot.

Congrats to all the successful hunters, and even us non-successful SOBs. Enjoyed it!

It doesn’t matter. Just have fun. Got another two year old this morning in Kentucky . He won’t upgrade but doubled with a friend and sure was fun. We walked a little over 4 miles.

Good job n2deer, was fun this year but frustrating. My texas trip fell through so i wudnt happy about that..but either way its been a good time chasin my favorite critters.
