I just hope to hear a Turkey lol....I got a baby due Monday.....but I'm taking 4-5weeks off to "take care of the baby" lol

One of the best turkey seasons I ever had was 2011 the year my first was born on February 28. I didn’t get to hunt much at all but it seemed like every time I got to go I had an awesome memorable hunt.

I guided an old man from Maryland this morning in Barbour county. Nothing happening. So I high tailed it back to Jefferson county. Got in the woods around 1. Struck one about an hour ago and I promptly managed to gimp him up. Not a happy camper right now.

Finally broke the ice this morning. Great hunt, won’t score all that well because of a broken spur, but it sure felt good to pull the trigger!

Come back to aldeer, start a new thread or click use full editor from the quick reply box. Top row in the middle of the reply box is an icon with a mountain in it, click it and delete the https that is already in there and paste your copied link and hit submit.

Killed another 2 year old yesterday afternoon and called in a nice bird for a buddy this morning. It was his first bird ever. Think I had more fun watching him celebrate over that turkey than anything

Congrats weagle. I didn’t hear much yesterday. A few ghost gobbles, so far off I couldn’t pinpoint them. Walked 7.5 miles and biked another 10 or so. I’d forgotten how frustrating it is when you don’t have many birds nor much time to hunt them. Good luck today fellas.

I called one up for my brother in law yesterday morning and he missed.....been trying to get those birds in range for 4 days.....only 2 birds I had gobbling too

I went this morning to a part of club that has always had a bird. No sign of a turkey period and didn't hear a distant gobble either. I'm headed after one I've recently started getting on camera in morning and hope he'll be close.

Killed a triple beard upgrade bird this morning.

Congrats! I haven’t been able to go much with work the last week or two. But I should kill a couple more birds before it’s said and done. Going to hunt two more weekends in Alabama, then I’ve got a trip to Nebraska and Oklahoma. May follow that up the start of May with a quick weekend trip to Indiana.

Congrats man! I am about 2 hours from pulling into the gate in Texas. Maybe I can scrap one up that will score well. I’ve got a 3 year old I killed in Bama a couple weeks ago that I haven’t posted, hoping to have something bigger for the contest, we will see!

We will definitely be in the thick of things. I’ll post my birds all at once at the end of the season. Good luck fellas.

Well me and a buddy have killed 6 out here in the last 24 hours. One of my birds had a little over 1.25” spurs. Will get added to the contest when we get home!

Congrats buddy! I figured it was just a matter of time. It’s been slow on my end, but we did manage to get my fiancé her first bird this weekend. I may have one more hunt in bama. The good news is that I’ll be in Nebraska and Oklahoma next week, and probably a quick run to Indiana the following week.

We’ve got a decent shot at it. I believe there’s atleast 7 birds between weagle, yak, and myself to be entered.

Congrats guys, I have been messing with a couple different gobblers but I doubt either would be an upgrade to what I already have.

Way to go fellas. I posted one of the Rios I killed that had a double beard the other day so I should have 3 good ones in the contest. I’m pretty much done in Bama for the year. I head to Indiana next week for a day and then Nebraska on the 15th but I imagine the contest will be shut down by then, but maybe I’ll scrap up an upgrade bird in the next week. This team has been STRONG!!

Dang guys, y'all been wearing them out! Congrats on the birds. Looks like I'm going to be the weak link. Birds on my club have vanished. Seeing some tracks but not getting many pics and they not talking. Been hunting some public land but either not hearing anything close on their or having some very courteous hunters move in and try to cut a bird off. Hoping we hear one in the morning but not going to be first shooter, will have my nephew with me hoping to get his first bird.

I killed my third for the year Saturday! Having trouble getting pics to upload from my phone but he will be a nice addition to my scores. I'm gonna go for one more time in the morning after that bird in Coosa co. He's a helluva good turkey too and would be an upgrade if I can somehow pull it off.

Congrats doc, and good luck tomorrow. We’ve killed a few out west, but it’s been pretty awful. It’s never taken us more than 1.5 days to kill 6 birds on this place before. Tons and tons of jakes and I believe they’ve got the longbeards run off.

Looks like we will have 16 of 18 birds entered, maybe that will be enough to pull this off. Definitely the best team I’ve been a part of.

Congrats doc. I am pretty sure team 1 will have their 18 birds. It will be close, but will take 18 birds to win it I do believe. It has been a fun season though.

Got close to best gobbling bird I've heard all yr on Sunday morning with my nephew. He was roosted right on edge of 3 property corner. We had help, well I should say competition, from one of our neighbors but he give up pretty quickly. I got bird to gobble 2 more times but think he was off property in a creek bottom. We swung around to bottom off line alittle but couldn't get him to gobble again.

I've been back after this bird the past 2 mornings. Our property and 1 of the other 2 are clearcuts and bird was roosted in a group of trees left standing in a bottom in our clearcut sunday. The bottom was b/t 2 big hills so monday I got inside the tree line on top of one of the hills 45 min before daybreak. The sorry sucker was across corner of clearcut close to where I parked. I was able to stay in timber to swing back around to where i parked but never could get him to gobble. So this morning i stayed at edge of clearcut where i park and he's (or a bird) is all the way on other side of clearcut. I went to gasline hoping it was close to him and he stayed near his roosting spot. So far it seems like he didn't do that.

Nice bird doc. We are driving back from Oklahoma now. Hunting was terrible. Gonna make a quick run to Indiana next weekend, then it will be time to hang it up for the year.

I’m still hunting I’ll post my birds when I get back from Indiana Sunday.

Are we in the running for this thing? I’ve got an upgrade bird I killed in Indiana last week that I can turn in. Actually had probably the best hunt I’ve ever been on. I called one in for a buddy and it had 5 beards and little over 1.25” spurs. About an hour later I killed my bird, it was 23.5 pounds had 1.5 and 1.25” spurs with a 10 3/4” beard

Turn it in weagle, we may not can win but it will be a tight race once atoler gets his birds posted.

We’re in contention for sure! May even get the silver or bronze! Best team I’ve ever been on!!

I just posted my upgrade bird. If y'all get a chance look at the beards on the bird my buddy is holding in the pic, his bird scored in the 130's with all of the beard length it had.

I posted my birds up last night, unfortunately this year has been pretty crappy for me, so none of them scored particularly well. Been fun to be on a good team for once though.

I really enjoyed being on this team!
