As many of you know I am a sheriff's deputy. Yesterday morning I get dispatched to a residence I know well in referance to a 911 hang up. I go to the location and talk to the people who live there and they didn't make the call. They were sleeping(passed out). Explain to them that the 911 operated said all they heard was mumbling. The guy said his son was there. Thru my experiences with these people I know the son is in a bad place in his life. They said he was probably in the shed listening to music. I walk to the shed and opened the door and what I find is BAD!!! I instantly know there is no life in the kid. My training kicks in and I secure the scene and make that long walk to inform the dad of what I found and explain that they do not want to see what happened. Long story short. The 16yr old stuck a shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger.
After we finished with the incident and left, I cried all the way home. I cried out of anger because this kid had never harmed anyone or ever said a bad word to anyone as long as I been knowing him. Sure he had mental issues but all he ever wanted was some attention and couldn't get it from the family because they were always to busy fighting over who was going to take him that day. This kid did not be the one to leave this earth and this is where I need y'all to pray for me because I can't get the thought that it should have been the POS parents that should have went and not that kid. I was raised in the church and I KNOW I'm not supposed to think like that but all I see is that kid on that floor and I keep getting more and more pissed off. Thank God for my wife and kids that were here for me last night. Everytime is close my eyes I would see that kid. I have been on and seen some bad things but none has affected me the way this has. I'm trying to stay busy to keep my mind off of it but I can't seem to shake it.
Im sorry for the long rant but I'm by myself today and needed to vent. I know I'm gonna be ok after a few days and not looking for pity. Just asking y'all to help a brother out with prayer to get these bad thoughts out of my head and even tho they weren't the best parents, they lost their child and I've been praying for them and would also ask y'all to do the same.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

Praying for you marsh. But you also need to talk to a professional. Surely the department has someone you could spend some quality time with to learn how to get over this in time...
