A lot of crimes occur when weddings and funerals occur. When my parents died we had a neighbor stay at the house while we are at the service.
Sorry for what happened.
It like the people who post of facebook pictures of them being on vacation. Not only are the telling their friends they are away, but also every crack head who is looking for a score.

Someone broke into my parent's house a month or so ago while we were at my dad's brother's funeral. All that was stolen was my father's pain medication. My brother saw the story below on tv and put two and two together. We have video surveillance and it is being sent to the investigator. It takes a low life piece of sh*t to prey on people like she is accused of doing. Mash Here She driving a silver or gray car on your surveillance? I know of at least 3 more in adjacent counties. I figure the number will rise.

When a loved one passes away and a friend that knows you but not the deceased asks "Is there anything I can do?" say "yes there is, instead of attending a funeral for someone you don't know, would you mind watching my house for a couple of hours?" It is an old ploy by thieves to get the who, when, and where info from obits.
As someone that hates funerals, I'd take them up on this in a heartbeat.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I performed a funeral for a son of a military man a couple years ago. Someone from his guard unit was put at his house during the funeral and the Hoover police also let us know they would patrol his neighborhood heavier during the funeral as well. I was impressed the Army Guard sent someone to watch his home as a courtesy. They also brought tables and 4 e-z ups to set in his yard and cut his lawn.
