There’s been a lot of questions on here lately about where to hunt in AL, so I figured I’d give some advice, with a little help from some maps. You are going to want to avoid the counties with darker shades. These counties have almost zero turkey left. Save yourself the trouble and look for property in the lighter shaded counties.

As you can see, that’s where timber production has been highest since around 2000. All the turkey there are gone. Some here believe just hearing a cutter head crank up and start felling trees caused birds to pass out and die. You’ll see counties like Clarke, Marengo, Butler, Crenshaw and even Barbour shaded dark. Remember, no turkeys there. Find somewhere else. grin

Heck we cut a bunch of timber last year and I expect that to improve my hunting. I get your point though.

Got that right. Zero turkeys on the mountain north of Mentone.
