To start I am currently shooting a Hoyt Maxxis. I love the Bow been shooting it for a couple years now but Im not too happy with the draw cycle. My question to all you pro's out there is this... Do I stay with Hoyt and get the new Element with the new cams or do I stray and try the new Mathews z7 extreme or PSE. Also I am looking at what may be the most forgiving as far as accuracy. This ought to get some people to chime in!!! I am looking for the smoothest most accurate bow! I know most people are gonna say its a personal preference, just want some input!!

I like the Z7, all though it has a pretty hard cam, I shot the carbon element, it is a nice bow also, but I couldn't tell a whole lot of difference. The softest smoothest cam bo I have had was my Mathews Drenalin.

Go shoot a prime shift and/or centroid. You'll thank me later

Ride down to Prattville and shoot them both. Then pick. I think the Element is by far the best bow ever made! But, that is just me.

Ok thanks for the input.. to be honest I have shot both the PSE Omen pro and the Mathews z7extreme, not multiple shots though and both were super smooth night and day from the Maxxis that I shoot now. What about accuracy, I am by no means a pro, but I do understand the concept of consistency and tight groups. Which do you guys think is most accurate and forgiving? I understand its up to the shooter and experience, just interested in what you guys think!

Shoot'em all and let the bow find you...don't be scared to shoot the bows that aren't popular by name...try the athens, strother, k&k, obsession archery, G5 etc...

Just got my 2012 element in and the rkt cams are even smoother than last years fuse cams. I also shoot a Hoyt CRX32 and Rampage Xt both these bows are really smooth with 7" brace heights and speeds around 320 (ATA). Just let me know if I can be of any help. Not sure on the Mathews I don't shoot for them anymore but sure they are still very good bows

The G5 bow looks impressive. Like we needed a new bow company but hey, competition makes them all better!

One thing is right... get it in P'ville! I'm sure there are some good bow shops elsewhere too but the guy in P'ville knows what he's talking about.

Try the PSE EVO 7. I just bought one a few months ago and am very happy with it. The smoothest draw cycle I've seen and very forgiving with a 7 inch brace hight. Oh yeah the speed ain't bad either.

What do you not like about the draw cycle of the Maxxis? I'm not sure if it makes a difference but does it have #2 or #3 cams? I just picked up a 2010 Maxxis 35 with #3 cams and I think it has a smooth draw cycle although the valley is very narrow.

I have bowtech Pro40. At the time I purchased bows which was about 6 or 7 years ago this was the smoothest bow I pulled back. I have never owned a Mathews but have pulled several back. They are not as smooth as my bowtech. IMO

Bowtech Pro 40, ripcord fall away and trophy ridge 3 vertical pin sight.

I've always bought a new Mathews every year since they were first introduced back in the early nineties. I've had them ALL. Last year I shot a friends Carbon Element. Needless to say , I bought one a few days later. I sold my Z7 Extreme. The Hoyt's are faster and quieter. They actually shoot very close to the advertised speeds. Mathews do not. I'm not saying I'll never own another Mathews. But it would have to be VERY impressive. I suggest shooting several bows and buy the one you like the best. IMHO
