Get a 4WD even if you think you don't need it. I was in the same boat and got a 2017 Ford F150 4x4 and I have needed it half a dozen times already. Best truck I have owned and I have had a lot. I've owned a few too. I even bought the legendary 87 toyota new. My 2016 ford may be my favorite.

You can get a brand new left over 2018 Ford F-150 STX 4x4 for 36k. That is what they are asking, may be able to do even better.

I’ve got a ‘16 f-150, been pleased with it so far. About 55k miles on it now. I’d recommend shopping around, I got mine with 19k miles 4x4, Xlt Texas edition, for about 4K less than the price you found. But it took me a few weeks to find it. Did not state the price but the Ford dealer is asking $32,375 for the 2016 Ford and $28,900 for the Silverado. The Chevrolet has a lot more "bells and whistles" and creature comforts but is not 4WD. Also want running board and spray-in bed liner which the Ford has but about $700.00 add on to get on the Chevy. Last car we purchased was bought from CarMax with set price. Any advise on what to expect from dealer/Gilland Ford on negotiation? Thanks. Gotcha, when I glanced at it, I thought the mileage was price, turns out it was pretty close.

I don't understand how all these new modern trucks have so many serious problems.
It seems that the auto manufacturers have out smarted/engineered themselves to the point that they are producing very expensive garbage, with respect to the half tons.

It's a moving target. The emissions standards change, and the engines have to change with them. The 2019 GM trucks now cut off at a stop light. That didn't used to be necessary. Sounds like a good way to stall in a bad area of town.

I'm looking at a 2017 f250 with the 6.2 gas burner. I'm thinking hard about purchasing it...
