I have heard a lot about it but never been however looks like I may get to this year. For those who have been do you mind Sharing any info you may think is beneficial to a first time visitor. I have never been to any event like this and really not sure what to expect. Is there many vendors etc?

Is this the same as the Davey Crockett shoot?

Thanks , I don’t drink so no need for a driver. I really wasn’t planning on shooting cause I don’t want to be shamed back to Alabama lol so I was mainly interested in the bow building and vendors

No worries about your shooting. You don't have to shoot in front of anyone. There's plenty of room between targets that no one can see you. It's all real informal and just for fun. Shoot anyway, even if you miss every target. Nobody will care.
I haven't been in several years but I am going to try top go back this year. Is it still the first weekend in May?
I'm not a drinker either, but might have a sip or two if the time is right.

3,4,5. I believe , keep me posted if you go. Maybe we can shoot together some. What does it cost to do the bow building classes ?

I'm sure I'll have a stave for you too Irish, even if you don't go,but it would be fun to shoot with you guys. I have about 15-20 Osage staves that have been in the attic for about 7 years. It's a real fun shoot though with super nice and friendly people everywhere. There's usually a campfire, guitar, banjo, some singing and a jar a lot later at night though.

Looks like a good time, I was hoping bryon Ferguson would be there but I contacted him and he said he was going to be at the one in Birmingham not Tennessee. However I think bigjim will be a vendor at the Tn classic. On top of making a self bow I’d like to buy a nice longbow but I’d like to be able to shoot it first.

Any builders up there selling bows during event? I’m thinking of buying one. I think I saw some in Cabela’s a month or so ago. Bear brand A Bear is going to be a factory made bow, whereas a bow you would find at the Tennessee Classic would be a homemade bow. If you are looking for something like a factory made Bear reflex/deflex, I have one I was about to list for sale. It is a Bear Montana. What weight are you looking for?

I don’t know for sure? I pull about 68 or so on my compound. You don’t like it ? Or the fit? Like I said in the other post. I love the bow it is super light weight, like light as a feather light. I made a custom grip on it. It shoots wonderfully. The only reason that I'm thinking of selling it is that I moved up to a 50# in the exact same bow. The only reason I bought this bow was to start with a lighter poundage so I could get my form right from the start. I can't honestly think of a better bow to get someone started in traditional archery.
