7 Mag would be my suggestion. There are others like a 300 Win or Weatherby mag. Then you get into stupid land like .30-378 or bigger. Someone is going to claim 6.5 Creedmoor but to me I want that energy level still around 1,000 at that distance to really pound whatever I hit. To me that is more important at distance shooting because of the probability of a marginal shot. If you are serious about connecting with a deer at that distance you need to let that sink in.
Several others can do it including .30-06 with heavy bullets. 7 Mag is hard to beat though the recoil and all that ain't that bad.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

For deer at 1000 id go with 300's or 338

Gunsite or Thunder Ranch for 7 days so ya can hit at 873 yards plus Arizona&Oregon's pretty country. Far as actual 1K rifles I'd look into Hornady's .300 prc .30-378 wby or .375 cheytac .416 Barrett or .50 Bmg.
Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

The 300 WSM would be a good choice as would several others mentioned. And you must practice at these distances. I believe having enough velocity at impact to expand the bullet is important, and bullet construction really comes into play beyond 600 yards. And you must practice. 1/2 moa accuracy is virtually a must for such shots also, so custom guns and fine tuned handloads can go a long way in this regard. And you must practice. Good quality optics with reliable, repeatable turrets are needed.
Did I mention practicing at these distances?

Well over 1200 fps and 2170 ft/lbs at 1500 yards...this is your correct answer.

Deer? A fast twist 7-08, 6.5-06/284 or 280 all AI, Just shooting deer to 800 or so and targets past that, a fast twist 243AI or regular 6.5 creedmoor will do. Bullets and popped primers matter way more than headstamps, case capacity, or belts when stretching that far.

Just for the record fellas.... I don’t know anyone that can shoot with me and I would never take a shot on an animal over 700 yards period and even at that distance it has to be perfect conditions. I really just wanted to see what calibers you all had in mind If one’s what you believe, and the other is your limit for deer, then a 1:7-8 twist 243AI or creedmoor will do what you’re asking, with the most efficiency.

Yup and with the least amount of recoil, wear, and expense. Most of the PRS shooters have moved to 6MM flavored cartridges.
