Heading south around Monroeville area this weekend. Has anybody down that way seen any rut activity yet? This weather has been so jacked up wasn’t sure if anything is going on or not

Should pick up in the next 10 -14 days through the end of season.

I'm on the Alabama river there. Bachelor groups are broken up and a few spikes were chasing this weekend. We took several does and they were all in heat.

So how exactly did you know they were in heat? Were bucks actively chasing them at the time they were shot? Why would you shoot a hot doe if you are trying to kill bucks? Honest questions.

Are you all over run with hog’s that close to the river? I know we have and are still having issue with them. In hopes to thin a few out this weekend

I'm just off the river 40 miles north at Camden and they are prob 15 days away from starting to chase based on what I'm seeing compared to what they did last year. Bucks just starting the break up and not paying lick of attention to the does yet.

Looks like it will be good the next couple of weeks. That’s a good thing.

We just got back from our place in Bermuda. Nothing happening there yet. Did quite a few yearlings by themselves. Guess the dies are starting to push them away. One of our guys killed a decent 160lb 6pt. Glands were still clean. Still a couple week away.

Sounds good. Suppose to be off the last 5 days of the season maybe the rut will kick in while I’m off last couple of years at our place they hit the rut hard and heavy about a week to 10 days after the season went out.

Yep I agree we’re near Repton, saw 13 does this weekend, no bucks. But they’re all over the cameras, some rubs and plenty of scrapes popping up so it’s about time.

I’m in Frisco and hunt close to river and up towards tunnel springs. Hope we do miss the rain, I finally have a few days off and weather is going to better than it has been. I haven’t seen many scrapes yet but I’m thinking they should start to show some signs of life here shortly or atleast I hope.

We are just outside of Frisco off Hwy 23. Our deer sighting numbers were off the last couple of years. Unsure about this year only been down once. Wondering is it due to the increasing hog numbers? hoping to see plenty of deer since very little pressure this year. But will kill as many hogs as we can...
