I agree about being new but if the food isn't edible then a refund should be offered. A group of 6 of us went food not cooked and cold, sent back comes back not cooked and cold again. No one got the sides they ordered. If you can't cook the food and or get what someone ordered simply unacceptable for any price.

If you go don’t order the elk steak. You’ll be highly disappointed. Family of 4 after paying to walk through and see animals and meal price with one child ordering off the kids menu. We spent a little over 100 bucks. Food was decent but not great.

Don’t ever go to a new restaurant when it first opens. Give them a little while to get the kinks worked out.

This. Terry is a good guy and has good sense so I'm sure he will work through any problems with the restaurant. I'll wait a few months and give it a try.

If the Turks are paired up with the lady I think they are, the food will be delicious. Must have just been a "new" problem like Auburn 03 said.

Just the concept of Bama Bucks sounds to me like it would be better as a special events venue rather than a full on restaurant.

We should start a new thread to discuss it.

I heard they served right at 1300 people on their opening weekend. That is a lot for a new restaurant. I bet the Turks will get things straightened out pretty quick.

I believe so to hated to even post that as they are great people for sure. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of people that showed amazing at the people from out of town that were there. The first thing I would do is let the Manager go. After talking to him 2 or 3 times he did nothing to resolve the issue. Told us when we were leaving I out hope you will give us another chance. Talk is cheap. Mr Turk was there and I'm sure will be most of time. Use the Managers salary to put back into hiring kitchen help.

I agree about this. Opening weekends-weeks are challenging no matter where. Even with veteran house staff, line cooks, prep, servers, etc., they all have to figure out routines, quirks, handle stress and so forth. A soft opening might help but opening weekend-night typically will be crazy.

For the owner or manager to just say "Eh, it was busier than we expected. We'll be fine." won't cut it, either. Whoever is really in charge hopefully took notes and addressed deficiencies, made changes or fired people.

However, desertdog saying food was cold and issues unresolved goes to IMO deeper problems. Cold food is unacceptable, especially after being sent back.

You only get one chance to impress the public with a restaurant like this and it sounds like they didn't do a great job with it. Maybe they'll figure it out. If not, they won't last.

Boy, I agree Clem. DD's check should have been torn up and everyone sent home with a complimentary dessert. Restaurants make it or break it via word of mouth.
