Anyone use a Meopta Meopro? Looking at buying a new scope and these look like the old Zeiss Conquest scopes, wanted some Alabama deer hunter feedback on their quality for food plot hunting late afternoon.

The Meopro is really good glass. My understanding is they made the components for Zeiss to assemble the old Conquest line in the US. I’ve had quite a few of them over the years.

I have a meopro 4-12x50 with #4 reticle and it's very good in low light and clear.

One of the best in their price range in my opinion Doc is correct if you like the old Conquest line you’ll like a MeoPro. They have one of the best #4 reticles out there.

I've owned them in 3-9x40, 6x42, 3.5-10x44, 4.5-14x44 ... They are the most bang for the buck as far as hunting optics are concerned IMO.

I've got the 3.5-10x44 you mention here and love it. Sure, it's not as nice as my buddy's high-end Swarovski but it does all I need it to do and then some. I'm very pleased with it.

I’d go ahead and save a few more dollars and buy the meostar.

I just bought one but haven't had time to mount it on a rifle yet.
Just looking across the field, right at dark, I can tell it's one of the best low light scopes I've ever seen.

I just bought a meopro 4.5-14x44 htr on sale at eurooptic. I think they are still running the sale. Seems like it was $449.

Got it mounted, sighted in, and I’ve hunted with it a couple of times. I like it for the money. Seems well made. Glass is decent. Low light performance is not as good as my Zeiss 3–12x50 conquest dl. I feel like I lose several minutes of shootability. Overall I think it’s a great scope for the under $500 price. I would not buy it for normal msrp, I’d wait until I found a higher end scope with 30mm tube at that price range.

Here is the result of field testing on Saturday. 294yds, drt

Good scopes but not alpha quality glass as others have said above. If you like a #4 reticle, meopta has one of the best I've seen. I've used the older Zeiss conquest scopes which were essentially a meopta. Once took two guns to a field, one with a 4.5x14x44 conquest the other with a German made Zeiss diavari C 3x9x36. With both scopes set at 9X, I had about 5 more minutes of shooting light with the diavari C. I would only buy if you could get for a sale price, but at full price there are better options, for low light performance.

It doesn't matter what power your 14X scope was set on,there are still more lenses for the light to pass through on the higher magnification scope,so not really comparing apples to apples.

Both are 3x erector scopes, how do you figure there are more lenses?

It matters because of the exit pupil size. At 14.X the exit pupil would be 3.14, compared to 4.89 at 9X, which is greater than the 4.00 exit pupil of the diavari C at the same magnification. Could still see reticle and deer for several minutes later with the diavari.

Not relevant in the respect that either scope will get you past legal shooting light in Alabama.

Then it's either subjective,or difference in individual samples. I had a 3-9X36 German,Diavari, and it was the worst low light scope I ever tried, including an old Vari X 2-7 Leupold, and a USA 3-9X36 Diavari.

Even so,I've never had any situation hunting where it was legal to shoot but I couldn't because of my scope, and that's even when I was using Simmons and other crap.

The meostar scopes, not the meopro scopes. Like every other manufacturer, they have different lines and price points. The meostar scopes are on par with any scope made by Zeiss or Swaraovski for light transmission.
