Hang a camera to see what's happening. If I was worried about safety getting in before daylight, what would be different about coming out in the dark? I'd get in as early as safely possible and sit as long as I could.

Depends on a lot of factors. Where is the bedding and the feeding? Which wind? Where is your ground scent going to be? Etc.
It is easier to fool a man than to convince him he has been fooled.

While hunting last weekend I came across the best sign that deer were in the area that I have ever found. There was a large rub in the center of a trail fork that runs the top of a ridge with draws on both sides. In about a 10 yard radius of that tree there was fresh deer scat and tracks. everywhere .This location is about 2.5 miles from my truck and I can't get to it safely before daylight due to the terrain. So should I hunt it in the morning when I can get to it or in the evening? I don't usually put a lot of faith in sign but the amount of fresh sign in the area has really caught my attention Why can’t you get there safely in the dark? Some gangsters gonna shoot you halfway to your stand? I hunted 2 miles from the truck this morning in some of the steepest, rockiest, nastiest terrain in Alabama and I’m still here to tell about it. Out of bed at 2:30, walking at 4:00, in the tree at 5:45. Disclaimer, i do keep a climber stashed in the woods on top of the mountain. I’ve killed 2 nice bucks out there but no deer this morning.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

I'd also check maps and make sure there's not a way to short cut in...

If it's close to breeding time , don't waste time with cameras , HUNT IT, if you have a hot hand , play it! BTW, at 2.5 miles from the truck , how ya gonna get him out once you have his chin on the ground?

Yea, you gotta get him out if you kill him, so you need a backpack to haul meat, sharp knife, meat bags, and strong legs. Can you see good from the ground? If so I would carry a turkey lounger and shooting stick, instead of a stand.

If it's ripped up like you say shouldn't take but two consecutive days at the right time , you might not even need the second day . Take this opportunity to learn a little about reading and hunting sign and getting a mature buck killed hunting it. Tis a dying art I reckon.
Good luck , post a pic when you get him.
