I have one on my AR. It’s the first time I have used one and I like it. I wouldn’t mind having a bolt gun setup with the scout scope.

I never used one but was curious about them myself.

i've run three different scouts. excellent woods set-up. i'd keep power to 2x or 2.5x so you can have some field of view ...

I bought a Burris 2.75x20 for my Marlin 45-70. I could’nt get used to it. Not much field of view and no good in low light.

Never understood the attraction, myself. Seems to be a lot of room for glare, and not ideal for low light.

Just use a regular Leupold 1.5x5 mounted like normal. Same deal.

Why not go the AR route with different caliber and have an accurate rifle?

I ha e owned a AR in 300 and 223 , accuracy was good with both but I have just always liked the mini
I have owned 2. Accuracy hasn’t been stellar with either one vote for my purpose they will work

Seems like you know what you want then. Will it be a shorter range gun? I haven't set one up yet,but always liked the idea of an Aimpoint Micro set up like that. To me the scout scope thing looks like it works at close range better anyway,so I think I would prefer a Aimpoint Micro which is lighter than a scope with a 2moa dot and cal literally stay on for years for close range and use a normal scope on a longer range gun.

Or buy a Savage scout 110. Col.Cooper's concept was general purpose rifle for game up to 500lb's @300 yards plus defense.

Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

I figure the 7.62 is a max 200 yards rd on deer but I likely would be shooting half that. I have never had a scout scope set up. The pros and cons have been all over the board from the reviews I have researched . Seems some love it others hate it. I do have a bushnell red dot I thought about trying for the time being.
