Had a German built Mk V; very cool rifle and caliber. Guy I bought it from begged me to sell it back to him; I did and, of course, he sold it. Wish I had kept it. to go with my 257Wby B-78 and 270 Wby MK V. It was a shooter.

Cartridge... not caliber. Caliber is .243 or 6mm
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

3500 with the 80 grainer. I had one for years but just didn't keep it because it was setup as a varmint rifle and I decided .243 is hard to beat.
I would personally get the .257 WBY over the .240. The ballistic coefficient is nothing to write home about on either one however the .257 is a much more versatile cartridge because you have heavier bullet options. You can shoot a 100 grainer 3500-3600.
I think .240 has never been as popular of this reason.

If I was expanding what magnums I owned the 6.5-300 would be getting my attention.
Ronnie Milsap saw that coming from a mile away! You sure you're not getting paid by the 6.5mm bullet manufacturers to promote their newfangled fancy chamberings?

By the time you shoot it enough to find a good load and sight in your scope the 1st barrel will be burned out....
