Seriously tho. If Sabens is so great why does he even feel the need to bring this guy on and draw any scrutiny or distraction to bammer right now? He doesn't need that guy

Saban has guys like that in all the time. He's had Bob Stoops, Lane Kiffin (pre OC days), Urban Meyer, Mike Leach and several other high profile coaches in to give feedback. He's hired coaches as analysts that most wouldn't touch and several of those have high profile jobs in college ball and the NFL as I type this.

What bewilders me is on every Auburn board there are 5 threads dedicated to this topic and they are just trashing Saban. Auburn fans are quick to trash any method employed by the Alabama coach even though he is getting the results that they yearn for. If I was in y'alls shoes I would be demanding that Gus start following the example and doing something different.

It's funny, the guy either wins or plays for the Natty every year and wins 98.5% of his games but his methods are questioned. He's obviously doing something right.

The thing that I found most troubling was some ninety minutes passed before they called the EMT’s after the kid was showing signs of a heat stroke. In my opinion Durkin used poor judgement if he was the one that made that decision and he was the head coach so it falls on him. Damn shame a kid died from a football practice.

I don't particulary like everything Saben does but he seems to be a very intelligent guy. He also knows a hell of a lot more about the facts than most of us. Might do the guy some good to learn how to do it the right way. Sabens a lot like Trump. Neither are perfect but they both seem to be doing a hell of a job !

I guess the big question is would you trade ol Gus and his system for Saban and his system?
