me and some buddies was talking I think it's just a 1.5 year old deer but he's big bodied yall think he might have some kinda growth stunt keeping him from growing more than little spikes he's a good 8 inches shorter than all the deer I see him with but is built like a pitbull compared to them I've done named him Donkey couple my buddies say he's older because of his build what y'all think

I'd call him a three year old.

I killed an 8 point last year that was built similar to that. He had a mature body but he had real short legs. Kind of reminded me of a Shetland pony.

I think the correct term is "little deer". Dwarf is so offensive. rofl

I killed a 10 point last week that was much shorter than the other deer in the other area. He had a short body and really short legs, very thick...my processor aged him at 4.5, but he only weighed 160 lbs...

I killed a 10 point last year like that. We just called him a pigmy buck. My buck was at least 4.5 years old and looked huge on trail cam pics because he was always alone and we never had anything to compare him to. Since his legs were so short, and his belly was sagging, he looked like a 180-200 pound deer on camera and his rack also looked bigger. He was still a nice buck but he only had a 14" inside spread. Another member killed a buck just like mine 2 years before I shot mine so there is definitely something genetic causing it.

Wow...really? That is some funny stuff!

I guess when you're a 6 ' 8" GIANT, an AVERAGE height guy like me at just 6 FEET seems a little small!

Bet I only seemed 5'8" or 5'9" standing next to you. An Optical illusion, or maybe due to lack of oxygen way up where your head is. grin

and oh yeah...

I hope he makes it another year I've kinda gotten fond of the little feller I'll post up another pic of him next to another deer when I go pull my card it would be pretty cool to see what he looks like with a rack on him I may not have to worry about his genetics getting passed on hed need something to stand on
