So in a new club and loggers show up the week before gun season unannounced. Supposedly only cutting an 80 acre tract on the corner. Well they are cutting more than that and of course end up in area where I have a loc on set up and a nice bushnell camera and guess what the sorry azzholes took it. Pisses me off, 2nd time in 5 years.

Been down this road before they’ll deny and blah blah blah. I know there’s nothing I can do but it’s just sorry ass people that will take something that belongs to someone else. My uncle owned and ran a logging business for 40 years and never did stuff like that. They’d leave the stand on the stump.

Find the forester that is over the cutting operation and tell him about the missing stuff. He can't help you about the cutting tho.

Go ask them don't assume they did. May off took it down to keep from damaging it.

I understand the cutting, that’s what the timber company is in business for and I know that’s part of leasing from them. I don’t treat others propert other tha. Just that, someone else’s not mine and that’s what bothers me. Paint rock I hope you’re right but history has taught me otherwise.

I would at least ask them about it, in hopes of discouraging it from happening again.

How is a logger suppose to see a trail camera. Seems like the tree gets cut and camera is destroyed by accident????

shoot the only trees the didnt cut had ladderstands on our place. Trees with climbers got cut.

Yep, I'd check. I've worked with lots of loggers over the years and most aren't going to take stuff like that. Some do though.

I can assure you that while they may avoid such IF they see it; their job is to cut the timber and get it to the Mills, not go around looking for things hunters leave in the woods.

As hunters on these type leases/clubs, you simply have to be smart about where you put things AND stay on top of the Activity in the area and remove your things when loggers show up on a tract.

It is very doubtful that the man who would have to pay for those tires is the one who stole the camera, if the camera was even stole in the first place. It is verry likely laying in the clearcut someplace.

You might want to go to the closest paper mill and look through their digesters for your gear. No logger gives a damn about your ratty camera.

Your stuff probably didn't get stolen. More than likely it got destroyed. It sucks but thats the way it happens when you hunt timber company land.
