Many many moons ago the only way I knew how to hunt deer was with dogs and drivers while we were standers. Shotgun only with buckshot or slug. Now I would drive an hour one way to hunt hogs like that after deer season. I believe you could get rid of some hogs and have a fun time doing so not to mention meeting up with some friends👏

I don't know of anyone with hog dogs that would even entertain the idea of letting folks with shotguns shoot at hogs that their dogs are running. The main reason being hogs are a lot slower on long runs than deer so the dogs are closer when crossing a road and a black and tan colored dog crossing a road could easily be mistaken as a hog.
I personally don't let anyone I take hunting carry a gun to keep from my dogs being shot by a inexperienced trigger happy hunter. It's knife kills only for my guest.
