Well I am still looking to possibly get a different tractor that's 4wd with a loader in the 45-55 hp range. I've ran across several New Holland workmaster series in this hp range but have not heard much about them and the reviews are about like everything else some good and some bad. To me they are a good looking tractor that seems to not have all of the fancy electronic bells and whistles that most have now which I like because it's less to tear up and they are a good bit less in price than the same thing in a JD or Kubota. I was just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with them or maybe even owns one and could tell me about the quality and life expectancy of one of them. By the way I do not work a tractor like a lot of people do I generally will only put 100-200 hours a year on one and that's mostly running a 6 foot finish mower but if I had a loader I would do a lot more with it like moving round rolls of hay and other general things around the house.

I think there ok. Get 4x4 for sure. They look nice. Dealer location is a key for me. Not any close.so I went with a brand that had a dealer close to me. You buying new or used?

It be's that way sometimes.

Their larger tractors are good quality. I’ve always been told that Case & NH are identical tractors with different color paint

Looking at used since there are a lot of tractors out there that have only 50-100 hours on them and are a whole lot less than a new one. If I could I would really like to get JD 5045E or 5055E but all of them I have found are pretty high on price and the ones that I have found in my price range are bought up as soon as they come up for sale. The dealer location is not a big deal for me since there is a NH dealership only about 20 minutes away but I can drive an hour from my house and be at pretty much all of the different dealerships for all brands since I only live about 40 minutes from Dothan.

My grandad traded an old ford 7610 for one this week no cab but it's 130hp 4x4 I'm stoked I'm so tired of that Ford's front end loader

The Workmaster series are made by LS tractors. Read up on them in the tractor forums. http://lstractorusa.com/

Problem is with new hollands is lack of dealer support compared to Kubota or Deere. You'll need your dealer at some point, so having one close is big when getting a tractor. They make fine tractors, but it's not worth savings a few thousand off the bank note if your dealer is a few hours away.

I wouldn't mind getting a kubota since I have a 2015 mx4800 2wd but I really want a 4wd with a loader. The only thing I worry about is I've read that compared to JD and other brands their hydraulics are not very strong. I've also looked pretty hard at Massey Ferguson but there are not many of them out there for sale like I'm wanting which means to me there ain't many sold or either nobody gets rid of them for a reason.

We have had nothing but problems with ours. We've had it about 4 years and it's always had an fuel issue. Just spent around $7000.00 on it and had to bypass things to get it to run. We were going to trade it but couldn't get much for it so we have it still. It's a 95 HP air conditioned cab without front loader. I'd rather have JD or Kubota any day. We also had the MAJOR issue of no dealer to work on it in Alabama now.

I just bought a VERY lightly used (200 hrs) Kubota 2010 Kubota (W/O the new emissions bullcrap stuff) 7040 70 horse 4wd w/loader and hydraulic shuttle. It looks new. I prefer JD by a little over Kubota but this was such a sweet deal and I have a large Kubota dealership nearby. Only complaint I have is that it rides pretty rough compared to my old JD 2030. Kubota and JD tractors are like Honda in ATVS - Rock solid, great dealership support and easy to resell. I would stay away from the off brand tractors.

New Holland, Massey Ferguson and Mahindra are not off brand tractors. That is like saying anything that isn't a GM or Ford product is an off brand. New Holland (used to be Ford) has been around for longer than Kubota and so had Massey Ferguson. Mahindra is only the best selling tractor in the world. Hell, I remember the first Kubota I ever saw, my grandfather and all his buddies were making fun of some guy that lived close to them that bought that off brand Japanese crap. The Massey Ferguson 135 was one of the best tractors ever made.

Having said that, dealer support is important and if there isn't a dealer anywhere near you to service it if needed, you are going to be hurting.

The New Holland Workmaster is a rebranded LS tractor. That is what I was referring to.

I wouldn’t call LS an off brand really. They will be a player eventually. It is my understanding they are owned by LG. And their tractors seem to be pretty good so far.

LS Tractors is an engineering company. It is a division of LS Cable in South Korea. The group was originally part of the LG conglomeration, and was known as LG Tractors and LG Cable, respectively.

LS is associated with Mitsubishi tractors of Japan for technology, and many tractors are based on Mitsubishi designs, as well as use Mitsubishi engines. New Holland Ag also imports LS tractors to resell as LS-New Holland. (They originally had agreements with Fiat, which purchased New Holland. New Holland is a division of CNH Global).

LS formerly supplied base models for Montana Tractors which were then assembled in North America; and sold under the Montana brand name. This agreement ended when LS decided to begin their own imports and dealer network in 2009. They used to build for Farmtrac, a division of Escorts Agri of India, for sale in North America; and for TAFE Tractors of India also for sale in North America.

My BIL LS has turned into a good one I guess, after 2 years of every other week being in the shop. Computers replaced etc.... He was thankful for the warranty, still had to pay for part of the work being done, I think the parts were covered and no the labor or only a portion of the labor. I never asked but do know he had to pay something on the repairs.
