I have often caugh my self wondering this question but don’t know much about the programs. With the rise of high school bass fishing, why are they doing it out of bass boats? It seems like it puts the kids whose fathers don’t own bass boats at a severe disadvantage as far as making the team. Why haven’t they converted to kayak tournaments? My feelings are it would make it actually physical, the catching of the fish would be purely dependent on the kid and not just using his dads spots, and most any high school should be able to purchase a fleet of 8 to 10 nice kayaks with depth finders and a way to transport them, then any kid would be able to be on the team provided he or she makes the cut. What do y’all think?

I stopped by one of those tournaments in North Bama a few years ago (believe it was a championship) Hell i thought it was a Pro tourney with all the 100+ thousand dollar rigs (truck & boats) sitting out front My youngest son thought about it, but decided to play high school ball instead (baseball)
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

James with today's prices you may be $50-$100 K shy on a complete rig.

You're missing the point G/H. Kids with dads that are good fishermen and can captain have a great advantage over kids that don'. Putting them all in kayaks would level the playing field.

I like the idea of the kayak tournament, but with 300 kids, someone would be ran over (by a bassboat), or drowned by thre end of the first season. I swear bass fisherman screw up everything. even bass bass fishing.
