Y'all want to mow a food plot?
Quit overthinking all this and just go hunt.
Mowing plots, "educating" deer leaving a stand, if you get a dip will the scent scare them, can't make a sound or they'll leave.
Dammitman, just go hunting. They'll eat your planted baitplot and you'll see and shoot deer.

Dammitman, just go hunting. They'll eat your planted baitplot and you'll see and shoot deer. agreed, but face it - we live in a "Google It" world - folks would rather ask Q's online than learn through first-hand experience ... ALDeer is like the Google for hunting Q's/searches

The only plots I have ever mowed were clover plots and that is during the offseason. They will eventually come and eat your plots. Just let there be a few more nights in the 30's and all the acorns drop and they will be mowing them down unless you planted something that is not desirable to them. And, of course, I assume you have a healthy deer herd on your place. I say that because, I used to hunt with a buddy and his plots were always 8-10" tall, and I never saw a deer or deer tracks when I went with him and they very seldom killed any deer but they went through all the motions, but probably only had 10-15 deer per square mile.

scatter some corn in the plot and they'll mow the plot down some. or you could top sow some wheat before the next rain to get some new growth. or both. because the deer will trample the other seed in the ground eating the corn.
