I noticed a new ladder stand 15’ across the property line facing our 20 acre pasture that we just sewed seed on. I have double checked with another guy that hunts on the property with me and it is not his. The owner of the land it’s on is known for poaching and trespassing. How would you go about the situation? This is a tricky situation because of who the owner of the stand is and we don’t want matters to become worse. What solution would you resort to?

Do you have any trees on your property across from his stand?

Out a no trespassing sign right in front of it. Is there really anything you can do? Id try this. Sounds like a tricky situation. He could prolly cause you some heartache.

Put cameras out to see if he's crossing the fence.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Find an old shitty tripod and put it right in front of his treestand. As long as he isnt shooting on your land, he isnt doing anything wrong. You could put up a camera too. Or just whip his ass.

To be honest I don't get to vent out of shape with people hunting property lines. They're gonna do it and I have done it. Now going out of your way and creating a new plot right on the line is some what chitty. If it was already there when you got the property then fine. If you think you need a plot close to the line at least move over a foot or two. Dam. So the guy is ok to put a stand on the line looking on to the other property but the landowner is a dick for putting a plot on his land? Is this what I'm reading?

If that's where I wanted to put it, yes I would. But maybe you should read. It's a 20ac pasture that was top seeded and new stand on other property facing the pasture. No problem with the stand on the tree as long as he is watching his property. It would be a big waste of his time to watch my property because all he'd see is me sitting right in front of them. And I would do it the whole season.

I own 80 acres & I'll hunt every foot of it or hang a stand where ever I want to. That being said I won't poach the neighbor's property.

Wait is he 15ft “across” the line on your side? If so that’s a different story or is he 15ft from the line on his side? If that’s the case not much you can do.

He may can get a shot directly behind is ladder stand but why face it the opposite direction? I know the answer. I think we all do.

Out a no trespassing sign right in front of it. Is there really anything you can do? That’s why I’m asking. Surely someone has had this issue and have it resolved without involving the green jeans

Hell I'd get to be huntin' buddies with him...Combine land, coordinated attack. Kill deer. After finding two of his climbers the first two years after he was warned to not come on the property, 5 years ago, there isn’t any good vibes between us and him. I don't know, just a thought though. I hardly ever set my stands facing the direction that I plan to shoot from. I shoot left handed so I will place my stand facing 90* counterclockwise from the direction that I expect the deer to be coming from. Of course it would be opposite if you shoot right handed. Something to consider maybe. Otherwise every hunter knows that edges are where deer are likely to be found.

If I had land, you can face it all you want to. But you better not shoot a deer standing on my side of the fence. If it comes from my land, jumps the fence, and is on your land.........bust it. It's pretty simple.

Tell your local GW.. If he has had all those problems they wont mind giving him a look.
Tell GW to bring his remote controlled deer and set it up on your property. Tell GW if he catches him you will cook him a ribeye the size of his head.

If he’s 15’ on his side of the line and shoots a deer 2’ from the line on his side he has done nothing wrong, it is his land. As long as he’s not shooting across the line he is perfectly legal.

If he’s 15’ on his side of the line and shoots a deer 2’ from the line on his side he has done nothing wrong, it is his land. As long as he’s not shooting across the line he is perfectly legal. this is correct from my understanding. Our property line on our land here around the house is the Mississippi/Alabama state line. Our line is a 1.5 mile straight away down the line and we keep it disked to make sure nobody is crossing. Well our neighbor that owns 1/4 acre butts up to our 400 and something acres and he hangs a ladder right on the line facing our property. We call the gw and he said there’s really nothing he can do because he is just barely on his land. So now dude sits there and watches deer cross our line all day long and we can’t do nothing about it. So being there’s nothing we can do I’ll just drive my Jeep back there and park at the foot of his ladder and watch our line. Every time I do that when I catch him sitting there I’ll just pull up and wave and he gets down and goes back inside

most of the time since im right handed ill hang a stand 90° to the right of where i intend to shoot so is it possible its directly facing your property so he can soot down the line? deer love edges and transitions. but it would make more sense to put it directly on the line facing his property I could see that but when everything behind and to your left and right is thicker than owl shucks I highly doubt that’s the reason he has his stand hung there.

If he’s 15’ on his side of the line and shoots a deer 2’ from the line on his side he has done nothing wrong, it is his land. As long as he’s not shooting across the line he is perfectly legal. Thanks for pointing out the obvious... That’s just the truth, no matter how you twist it or look at, that’s why they are called property lines. I have dealt with this situation several times, we have someone who purchased a 20 acre piece right in the middle of our leased 1000 acres, he plants a big nice 2 acre field right in the corner of his place and kills some nice deer, the deer which come from our place I’m sure. But I don’t let that chitt bother me it’s his land , he bought it and can do as he pleases on it and nothing anyone can do about it.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Every time I do that when I catch him sitting there I’ll just pull up and wave and he gets down and goes back inside You related to BradB?
