Does ammo have a shelf life? Can the powder or prime go bad? Even slightly causing performance issues? If so, is there a certain time frame in years or just a guess? Ifound some old ammo of my dad's and thought about shooting it to get on paper before using my hunting rounds.

People routinely shoot ammo from WWII, although quantities are dwindling.

Hope it last long time. I got bit carried away when Obozo was elected. Can you imagine how much fire power is stock piled thanks to him. Keep it dry and you good

As long as it stays dry, it will last for longer than you.

This ^^^^ All about how it was stored. I've got some 40yr old Weatherby factory ammo that's as good as new.

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22

I've got some late 1960s NATO rounds that are still good

In the late 80’s I bought several cases of 3.5” 12 gauge shells. I’m still shooting them occasionally

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin

10-4. Thanks for the info. Guess my main concern was would it be safe to shoot.
