Does ammo have a shelf life? Can the powder or prime go bad? Even slightly causing performance issues? If so, is there a certain time frame in years or just a guess? Ifound some old ammo of my dad's and thought about shooting it to get on paper before using my hunting rounds.

As long as it stays dry, it will last for longer than you. This ^^^^ All about how it was stored. I've got some 40yr old Weatherby factory ammo that's as good as new.

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22

I've got some late 1960s NATO rounds that are still good
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

In the late 80’s I bought several cases of 3.5” 12 gauge shells. I’m still shooting them occasionally
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

10-4. Thanks for the info. Guess my main concern was would it be safe to shoot.
