I had been wanting a battery operated pole saw for a while and the other day after reading as much as I could find about them I bought a 40 volt Lynx brand from Harbor Freight, it was about $165. Today we were putting up some new stands and cleaning out some old ones and I got a chance to use it. The dang little thing far exceeded my expectations. Vines, pine limbs, oak limbs and anything else we tried it had no problem cutting it. A couple of more guys in the club said they were going to get them one.

Nice! I been wondering how they performed. I might bite the bullet and try one.

How long will it last? long enough to where you are sick of using it, or do you have to keep spare batteries to finish a job?

Sounds like an interesting tool

X2 on that. I bought a 40v pole saw from Lowes and have been totally happy with it so far.

Keep a file in the truck and hit the teeth after a battery swap. I have several small chained battery operated saws and keeping the chains sharp is the absolute key.

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

We used it all day on the one battery and it was still going strong. I have got to find me one of the little files for the chain, I'll probably get a spare chain and sprocket. One thing you have to watch when cutting a bunch of vines and crap is that the chain doesn't clean out all of the debris and you will have to remove the chain cover and clean it, the little tool is on the saw and it doesn't take but a minute to open it up and clean it out.

I have the Kobalt 40V from Lowe's and it still has a lot of battery left when I can't cut any more. I have not run the battery down yet. Great tool!

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Amazing what they’ve developed with battery powered tools. I’ve got couple battery powered chain saws. Had to file down gauge links on both chains. It’s a small ridge just in front of knife. Prevents chain from cutting too aggressively but limited cut too much for me
