Hope you find him Beadle. Hope your boy aint too tore up about it. my buddy shot one of if not the biggest live buck that I've ever seen we followed blood for a couple hundred yards then we called in a dog the dogs caught him but he broke loose and ran past me at about 25 yards. it was a big son of a gun Dang that’s no good, meant to put this in the bow hunting thread. it wasn't my son's deer it was my buddy Keith's buck. would have been his biggest buck ever. I swear it looked like a 150+ inch deer when it came off that hill
We will burn that bridge when we get there

My buddies grandson missed a doe then killed one a few minutes later this morning. It was his first and glad to get him on one. Stephen saw a doe and fawn while I helped get the doe out and gutted. We saw a doe right at dark this afternoon. Pretty good start to our rifle season.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Sudden Death!!! Thats what my son decided to name his gun that I bought him when he was 1, he has finally gotten big enough to use it so it made the trip this afternoon. We went close by to the family farm this evening since he had bball scrimmage at 6. Slow afternoon until around 430ish when we heard some deer up the mountain, never did see them but knew they were up there. Bout 10 or so minutes go by and we heard them coming down the mountain finally but they came from the north not from the East like we were setup. First doe hits a gap at about 40 yards and my son gets on her and I do the ol mehhhh to get her to stop...my son bust out laughing and couldn't get on the deer because he was laughing, i thought the game was over, well another 3 or 4 does came on around and I did it again and he started laughing again! I said they fixing to leave you better pick one and shoot her. He got on the back doe and let Sudden Death eat! Deer took off every where, the one he shot went up the mountain so I kind of thought he missed her. We get up and check for blood and found it almost immediately and it took us maybe 25 yards to the big ol fat doe. I had to run him down the mountain to his momma who was waiting at the gate then I go back up and get the deer. Finally got her loaded at 7:05. Dadgum rocks and cedars like to have killed me
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!
