Im starting to look for an illuminated reticle scope of some kind. 40-50mm objective. Does anyone have something they want to part with, or recommendations on a decent one that wont hurt my wallet too bad? this will be going on my 6 year olds .243 Model 7.

I think the fireflys are the illuminated version of this scope.

You may want to take a look at Hawke Optics. I now have 4 of there scopes with IR. A few years back they were inexpensive, while today the new price seems that have increased. I have never had any issue with one and they do add about 20 minutes morning and evening to your shooting time. The largest caliber I have with a Hawke is 308, but it is loaded hot. Also I have shoot this rifle to 500 yards accurately, while doping the scope and the repeatability has also been spot on. All mine also have adjustable objective, which may be more than a 6 yr can grasp, but it is a nice feature..

Weaver Classic Extreme on Natchez Shooter's Supply. Less than $200. I sold a Trijicon because the Weaver was just as good in low light for $500 less.
