Gold Tip arrows - 29" draw length, 69lb draw weight
340 or 300? I am currently shooting 340 but I think I should be shooting 300. What difference would I see out of this?

You definitely need a 300 or drop your draw weight to 62 or 63#. It takes a weak spined arrow too long to recover. An arrow that’s too weak is a lot harder and sometimes impossible to tune, especially with fixed broadheads.

Thanks, I just went with what the guy sold me with the bow but after that I think I’ll gain more accuracy by changing to 300 as recommend.

So I shoot 29” draw with 70lb pull. I use a gold tip 340. I changed to that based on a post last year I put up to help get my broadheads hitting the same spot as my field points. It worked. I changed bows this year but all the measurements and poundage is the same and it still works. I guess I’m asking why use 300 for those numbers??

Arrow/broadhead selection is confusing...

My setup: Elite Synergy 29" length, 69 lb weight - Currently shooting 340 Gold tip Hunter XT's with 100 grain points/broadheads (Again this is what the bow came with when I bought it used)

What do you bow techs recommend?

I'm not sure whether I should use the 315 - or the 315 + IBO FPS Chart...
From what I am seeing,
If I use the 315 - chart its 340 with 100 grain, or 300 with both 125 and 150 grain...
If I use the 315 + chart its 300 spine is 100% what I need regardless of what point I use 100, 125, 150...
Either way more of the options (5/6) are for the 300 spine...
What amount of this comes down to preference for broadhead/point weight selection?

I don't know your IBO rating, but you are teetering on the borderline between the two. If they are shooting good now, I wouldn't change anything.

Choose whatever weight you want to shoot. 100gr is the most popular followed by 125gr. The heavier the head, the stiffer the arrow needs to be.

Choosing a broadhead weight depends on a lot of things. First off, the heavier the broadhead, the more weight you will have on the front of your arrow, which adds a little more punch at impact. BUT, switching to a 125 gr may also require you to do some more advanced bow tuning or switch to a stiffer arrow due to the added weight up front. 100 gr broad heads are plenty to kill a deer and if that is what your bow is set up for, then I wouldn't mess with it. If you were elk hunting, you would want to shoot heavier in order to improve penetration. If you were shooting a recurve or something with lower poundage, you would want to shoot heavier to increase penetration.

Long story short, what you are hunting and what bow you are shooting would be the two main things that would determine my broadhead choice. If you are just deer hunting, and you are shooting an Elite Synergy at 69 lbs draw, and your bow is setup for 100 gr, then I wouldn't mess with it.
