Does having the new Outdoor Alabama app on your phone take the place of having a paper map of the WMA you are hunting?

I read in the paper hunting regulations that you still have to carry your harvest record. Not sure what the point of the app is, but I don’t make the rules...

I am specifically concerned about the signed map requirement on WMA hunting.

Idk I have thought about that too. I don t have a paper copy yet this year so I have been relying on the one on my phone. Hope it's ok, if not I guess I'll have a fine to make me remember

Same here and a buddy asked me if I had a paper map and that started the self doubt.

I don’t think anything has changed and you still have to have that signed copy of the map as a permit.

You would have to be a dumbass to not have a free signed map to cover yourself

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Fork the stupid-azz app...........buy your license, keep it (with the attached harvest log) and your printed/signed WMA map in a ziplock bag in your pack/jacket/pocket.

Kill a deer

write it on the harvest report on your license (or don't, if you're so inclined)
call it in when you get home (within whatever the acceptable time frame is)
add the confirmation number to the harvest report on your license

Move on with your life
