I shot this buck Saturday morning at 6:45 just 6 yds from my stand, but I was 25’ up in my climber so it was basically straight down shot. I thought I had Made a good shot but I caught His shoulder and missed all vitals as it never exited. I waited 3 hours and tracked his blood trail for 360 yds and then it just stopped. This a pic from the morning I shot him and then another 5 days after. You can see I hit Forward just a few inches to far. Just glad to know he survived and hope to get another shot at him. I had Drawn back on him the previous two days but decided to wait for a bigger buck I have Been after. He was fighting with another buck at the feeding station, so I am pretty sure he will fully recover. My arrow only penetrated his shoulder about 4”.

You just never know. I shot my 8 point last year in the same place as you did and he didn't go 50 yards.
That second buck is definitely worth waiting for.
