40 yds at 6:30 pm, that's one heck of a heart shot! I'm not sure I could see my pin at 6:30 right now! I'm also not sure I could make a heart shot at 40 yds with bluebird skies! All that practice paid off thumbup.

Follow up from earlier..

No heart or lung damage. The arrow seemed to deflect upon impact and hit the liver.
I eventually caught up with him almost 2 hours after the shot and he was just standing there breathing heavy. All I had was a damn pocket knife on me so I just stood there and waited for him to fall over.

Wouldn’t you know it, he takes off again! Ran another 75 or so yards then fell over and died. He was one tough ass warrior.
It’s my biggest to date and first with a bow so I’m carrying him to get mounted tomorrow.

Thanks for all the kind words!

beers I’m guessing he was quartered to you slightly when the arrow got there.

Thanks man! I kinda ashamed to even say it but this past Thursday was the first time picking my bow up this year . Shot about 15 times, I guess it’s just like riding a bike haha.

At the time I didn’t really think he was but obviously, he was a bit.

When he ran off with my arrow I just knew I hit the heart and expected to see a dead deer pretty soon.

Ahhh, The joys of bow hunting

Love those browtines. And looks like a solid heart shot. Good job.
